The Manresa City Council and the Misteriosa Llum Association are calling for the creation of ephemeral artworks on light and water for the 2027 Gardens of Light Festival. Proposals can be submitted until 10 September.
The Manresa City Council, together with the Misteriosa Llum Association, has opened the call for the creation of ephemeral artistic works that will be part of the 2027 Gardens of Light Festival. The selected pieces will be exhibited during the Festival of Light, on 12, 13, and 14 February 2027, in a route through various locations in the Historic Centre of Manresa.
The submitted projects must be closely linked to the themes of light and water. The deadline for submitting proposals ends on 10 September 2026, and the resolution will be communicated to participants on 2 October. The organization will select around twenty installations and performances that will combine both elements.
The selection will be made by experts in light and contemporary art. Innovation, aesthetic contribution, suitability for the spaces along the route, resistance to weather conditions, use of sustainable energies, and the ability to engage the audience and generate connections with the city's social agents will be valued.
Each selected work will receive 2,000 euros for fees, production, assembly, disassembly, and transport. The guidelines can be consulted on the Manresa Cultura website, and proposals will be submitted electronically through an online form.
The Gardens of Light Festival is a significant cultural event in Manresa, which transforms the historic centre into a space of art and light for three days. The 2027 edition promises to be one of the most ambitious, with a route that will integrate water as a central element.
