The City Council of Manresa, in collaboration with local associations, has opened the registration period for the choral singing workshop 'Songs of All Times', aimed at seniors. The 2026-2027 course will begin on September 7.
Seniors in Manresa interested in participating in the choral singing workshop 'Songs of All Times' can now formalise their registration for the 2026-2027 course. The activity, promoted by the City Council of Manresa along with local associations, aims to foster music and social relationships among the elderly community.
The registration period opened this Monday and can be done in person at the Citizen Attention Office (OAC), by calling 010 (or 93 878 23 01) or through the electronic headquarters of the council. The initiative, which started in 1997, seeks to train and disseminate singing following the festive calendar, combining traditional songs with original themes and adapting to the year’s festivities, without forgetting the most current songs.
The workshop is open to all musical levels and promotes community involvement. During the 2025-2026 course, a total of 180 seniors from Manresa participated in the activity. Additionally, the workshop is part of projects like CANTAGRAN, promoted by the Auditori de Barcelona, which aims to increase the active role of seniors in society through music.
The 2026-2027 course will begin on September 7 and end on June 22, 2027. Sessions will take place in various locations and times throughout the city to facilitate participants' attendance. Among the places where the workshop will be held are the local associations of Cots-Guix-Pujada Roja, Ctra. Santpedor, Valldaura – La nostra Llar, Vic-Remei, as well as the civic centres of the Font dels Capellans, Mion Puig Berenguer, Pare Ignasi Puig (XUP), the Casal de las Escodines, the Civic Centre Selves i Carner, and the Casal de la Gent Gran de la Balconada.
Timings vary by location: from 9 am to 6.30 pm, Monday to Friday. For example, at the Casal Cívic de la Font dels Capellans, classes will be on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 to 9.50 am, while at the AV of Valldaura – La nostra Llar, they will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5.30 to 6.30 pm. At the Casal de la Gent Gran de la Balconada, sessions will be on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 to 10.50 am.
The workshop also participates in events such as the commemoration of the International Day of Older Persons and the festivities of the different neighbourhoods of Manresa, thus contributing to the social and cultural dynamism of the city.
