The Rubí City Council is running two employment programmes that together employ 33 workers from groups such as long-term unemployed individuals or people in irregular situations.
The Rubí City Council has two active employment programmes that together provide jobs for 33 vulnerable individuals. These are the Treball i Formació EELL 2025 and ACOL 2025 plans, which combine temporary hiring, training, and personalised support to facilitate the labour integration of participants.
The Treball i Formació EELL 2025 programme has 28 people employed from 21 October 2025 to 20 October 2026. The profiles include administrative staff, gardeners, bricklayer assistants, masonry, carpentry and painting workers, civic agents, and home assistants. Participants come from groups such as long-term unemployed individuals without benefits, recipients of the guaranteed citizenship income, women victims of gender-based violence or long-term unemployed, and individuals over 52 years old who are unemployed.
Meanwhile, the ACOL 2025 programme has hired five people from 25 February 2026 to 24 February 2027. It is aimed at individuals in irregular administrative situations, with the goal of facilitating their regularisation through social and labour integration. The workers perform tasks as gardening and bricklaying assistants.
Both programmes offer one-year contracts, during which participants receive individual technical support and mandatory transversal training to improve their employability. The tasks they perform are non-structural and complementary to municipal services, such as gardening, brush clearing, and cleaning streets and public spaces.
The Mayor of Rubí, Ana María Martínez Martínez, and the Urban Maintenance Councillor, Juan López Núñez, recently visited the facilities where the plans are based, on Carrer de Cèsar Martinell. There, in 2020, the old sorting plant was renovated to become the programme's headquarters.
The forecast is that a new edition of the Treball i Formació EELL programme will start in October 2026, with 18 people hired for one year from the PANP, PRGC, and DONA groups.
The Treball i Formació EELL 2025 programme is funded by the Public Employment Service of Catalonia (SOC) through public funds from the Sectorial Conference on Employment and Labour Affairs of the Ministry of Labour and Social Economy. The ACOL 2025 programme is funded by the SOC and the European Social Fund Plus (FSE+) 2021-2027, with a 40% contribution.
These employment plans allow vulnerable individuals to gain work experience that strengthens their skills and facilitates their future integration into the regular job market. For the Rubí City Council, it also represents a reinforcement in maintenance tasks and the improvement of public space.
