In statements to the Diari de Terrassa, the player, who hails from Terrassa, has dismantled the version of the former Argentine international, who attempted to justify his action as a mere shove in response to an alleged comment.
“Someone who confesses to being remorseful but justifies a punch by claiming it was a response to something said is probably not truly remorseful, because he is not telling the truth, as I didn’t say anything to him, so I don’t need him to apologise,” Olmo stated. The strength of his words makes it clear that Ayala's supposed apology has not convinced him.
Olmo went further and reflected on the value of owning up to mistakes: “What truly defines us is not the mistake, but the courage to admit it.” A statement that highlights the attitude of the former Valencia and Zaragoza player, who is now part of the Albiceleste staff.

For that reason, I will apologise to him in person.”
However, Olmo firmly denies having said anything that justifies the assault. “I didn’t say anything to him,” he concluded. The discrepancy between both versions is total, and the footballer from Terrassa has made it clear that he does not accept an apology he considers false.

But thankfully, that’s what has truly been seen, and we are world champions after a lot of hard work,” Olmo added.
