The women's team of 3G Valladolid 3x3 has been crowned runner-up of the FCBQ 3x3 Catalunya, a tournament held this weekend in Badalona. The Valladolid team fell in the final against Ointxe! after a great comeback in the tournament.

The 3G Valladolid 3x3 has added a new success to its season by winning the silver medal at the FCBQ 3x3 Catalunya, one of the most significant events on the national 3x3 basketball calendar, which took place this weekend in Badalona. The women's team, made up of Celia García, Ceci Aldecoa, Clara Rodríguez, and Tayra Eke, reached the final after overcoming top-level rivals, confirming their growth in the competition.

From Less to More: The Comeback to the Final

The tournament did not start well for the Valladolid team. In the group stage, they suffered two narrow defeats against Las Rozas 3x3 and Bordeaux 3x3, which left them on the brink of elimination. However, the team responded with a crucial victory against Fuengirola 3x3, the team with the highest FIBA score in the tournament, which allowed them to qualify for the quarter-finals.

In the quarter-final match, 3G Valladolid took revenge against Agua y Jardín 3x3, a rival that had defeated them days earlier in another competition. The victory secured their place in the semi-finals, where they faced Las Rozas 3x3 again. This time, the outcome was very different: the Valladolid team showed a notable improvement and prevailed to reach the final of the Catalan tournament for the first time.

A Close Final and a Positive Balance

In the decisive match, 3G Valladolid faced Ointxe!, who ultimately took the title by making better use of the final moments of a very close match. Despite the defeat, the silver medal represents a meritorious second place that confirms the team's consistency throughout the season.

The men's team, consisting of Juan García-Abril, Edu Castaño, Marco de Larrea, and Enrique Gutiérrez, could not replicate the success and was eliminated in the group stage after facing several of the strongest teams in the national circuit. Nevertheless, the weekend's outcome is positive for a club that has established itself as a benchmark for 3x3 basketball in Castilla and León.
