FC Badalona Women has announced the signing of 23-year-old forward Mirari Uria, who arrives from Real Sociedad after helping the San Sebastián team qualify for the Champions League preliminary round.
FC Badalona Women continues to make moves in the transfer market. The Badalona team announced on Wednesday the addition of Mirari Uria, a 23-year-old forward coming from Real Sociedad, where she has played for the last eight seasons.
Uria, born in Azpeitia (Gipuzkoa), has accumulated 134 matches and 11 goals in the Liga F Moeve, all while wearing the txuri-urdin shirt. Last season, she played 530 minutes across 20 matches, six of which were as a starter, and although she did not score any goals, her defensive work and attacking pressure were key in helping the San Sebastián team qualify for the Champions League preliminary phase.
“I hope to convey that work. Both with the ball and in that defensive phase,” says the new player of FC Badalona Women.
The footballer, who can play as a centre forward, attacking midfielder, or on both wings, will bring versatility to the Badalona attack. Additionally, she has international experience in the lower categories of the Spanish national team, with which she was crowned European U19 champion and U20 world champion.
Uria becomes the fifth signing for FC Badalona Women for the upcoming season, following the additions of Lucía Martínez (from Deportivo Abanca), Izarne Sarasola (Nantes), Txell Font (FC Barcelona B), and Vicky Losada (Bristol City). The Catalan club aims to strengthen its squad to face the upcoming campaign in Liga F with confidence.
In her first statements as a player for FC Badalona Women, Uria has stated that she wants to “help her teammates in any way” and “contribute as much as possible with goals and assists.” She also mentioned that she hopes to “grow as a person and as a footballer” and “enjoy doing what I love.”
FC Badalona Women, competing in the top tier of Spanish women's football, continues with its plan to assemble a competitive squad. Uria's arrival strengthens the team's offensive line, which managed to secure its place in Liga F last season.
The Badalona fans are already eagerly awaiting to see the new forward on the pitch at the Municipal de Badalona. The club has not specified the duration of Uria's contract, but it is expected that the player will join pre-season training in the coming weeks.
