The Calima Festival has concluded its 2026 edition with over 2,000 spectators, establishing itself in the cultural agenda of Vilafranca del Penedès. The second edition following its revival has focused on emerging talent with OFF Calima.
The Calima Festival in Vilafranca del Penedès has wrapped up its 2026 edition with a very positive balance, gathering more than 2,000 spectators over three days of concerts. The second edition after the festival's recovery last year confirms the consolidation of the proposal within the cultural agenda of the town and reinforces a model that combines established artists, emerging talent, and a programme open to diverse audiences.
One of the main novelties this year was the festival's inauguration with a session of OFF Calima at the Municipal Hostel, where the audience discovered the small-format proposals of Sanruu and Crisbru. OFF Calima responds to the municipal desire to promote emerging talent from the region while also energising public spaces that host it. The initiative is jointly driven by the Youth Service, through La Nau, and the Culture Service.
The main stage, located outside the Municipal Auditorium, hosted the majority of the musical programme. The first day featured Ouineta and Dan Peralbo and the Comboi, before closing the night with a session from DJ Gargots.
On Friday, Calima Xics opened the day, filling the interior of the Municipal Auditorium with the family concert of Filomena. In the evening, L'Arannà delivered a performance of great artistic sensitivity, followed by the return of Delafé y las Flores Azules, one of the festival's most anticipated concerts, which attracted numerous fans. The day was completed with a session from PD Guineus.
On Saturday, Las Karamba inaugurated the final day, before the return of Derrumband to the Calima Festival. The closing was handled by DJ Txärnego, bringing an end to an edition that offered nine concerts and three DJ sessions, featuring a programme that spanned a variety of styles.
The three festival spaces, the Municipal Hostel, the Municipal Auditorium, and the exterior of the Auditorium, received positive feedback from both the audience and the organisation. The outdoor space included a bar managed by Tarannà Comunicació and a gastronomic proposal from Bukòlica Pizzeria, while the bar service at the Municipal Hostel was self-managed by the Youth Service.
Digital communication also contributed to the success of this edition. The social media campaign surpassed 108,000 views, and more than half of the people who viewed the content (51%) did not previously follow the IG profile @espectaclesvila. These figures highlight the festival's ability to reach new audiences and expand its projection beyond the usual digital community.
The Calima Festival in Vilafranca del Penedès reaffirms its commitment to a contemporary, diverse, and quality musical programme, while bringing cultural activity closer to different municipal facilities and consolidating a project that continues to grow both in attendance and projection.
