Quirónsalud Badalona University Hospital and FC Badalona Women have signed an agreement for the 2026/27 and 2027/28 seasons. The collaboration has already begun with the medical check-ups of the first team.
Quirónsalud Badalona University Hospital has become the official medical service of FC Badalona Women for the next two seasons. The agreement, which covers the 2026/27 and 2027/28 campaigns, has already started with the medical check-ups for the players of the first team.
The footballers have undergone initial tests at the hospital facilities, where professionals from the Cardiology department have evaluated their health status ahead of the pre-season. The aim is to ensure continuous healthcare monitoring throughout the competition.
The alliance strengthens the medical structure of the club at a crucial time, marked by the team's return to the city and the Estadi Municipal de Badalona. FC Badalona Women faces the 2026/27 season after finishing the previous one in tenth place and reaching the semi-finals of the Copa de la Reina.
Pedro Iriondo, CEO of FC Badalona Women, highlighted that having a nearby medical partner with specialised resources provides significant support to meet the demands of Liga F. For his part, Dr. José Luís Vega, manager and medical director of the hospital, linked the agreement to the centre's commitment to the city, women's health, and promoting healthy lifestyle habits through sport.

The medical agreement coincides with a significant renewal of the squad. FC Badalona Women has signed seven players during the summer transfer window: Vicky Losada, Txell Font, Lauri Requena, Sheila Guijarro, Izarne Sarasola, Mirari Uria, and Lucía Martínez. The mix of experience and young talent aims to elevate the team's competitive level.
The collaboration with Quirónsalud Badalona goes beyond the initial check-ups. It will allow for monitoring the performance and health of the footballers throughout a demanding calendar, which will require continuity, load management, and responsiveness to the medical needs of the squad.
The first step is already underway: medical checks completed, seven signings confirmed, and a new cycle beginning with the team's return to Badalona. For the club's fans, this alliance represents a commitment to the professionalisation and care of the players at a time when women's football continues to grow.
