The official Adidas store on Passeig de Gràcia is experiencing endless queues and has stopped printing shirts. Residents from the province of Barcelona, such as Montcada i Reixac and Esplugues de Llobregat, are searching in vain.

The craze for the Spain national team shirt has reached its peak in Barcelona just hours before the World Cup final. At the Adidas store on Passeig de Gràcia, a worker confesses that he has been printing shirts all morning and can no longer keep up. He has had to stop personalising the jerseys because the demand is unstoppable. Meanwhile, fans continue to enter the store in hopes of getting one, even if it’s without a name.

From Montcada to Esplugues: The Odyssey of the Fans

David Juárez, a resident of Montcada i Reixac, has gone to the official store to buy a shirt for his nephew. He and his son Pau have had theirs for days, with the name Lamine Yamal. "We are missing an 'L' for my nephew and it seems impossible to find it," he laments. His wife has managed to get a size that another family had just discarded, but not everyone is that lucky.

Sandra Parera, from Esplugues de Llobregat, has been searching for shirts for her three children, Max, Lenni, and Teo, for a week. "We need shirts for Spain to win!" exclaims the little one. They have gone to the 'top manta' and to stores in La Roca del Vallès, but everything is sold out. "We will keep looking, but for now, we’ll settle for any shirt, even if it’s a bit big for them," she assures resignedly.

The Anticipation Exceeds Expectations

The store has had to announce over the loudspeaker that no more shirts are being printed. The staff are continuously attending to a crowd that is rummaging through hangers looking for a size. The fever is such that some are considering buying trousers if there are no shirts. "If there are no shirts, maybe we can buy some trousers," says Sandra. The feeling is that Argentinians living in Barcelona already had their shirts beforehand, while locals are going last minute.

Father and son from Montcada i Reixac will watch the final in a bar in their municipality, just as they did for the quarter-finals and semi-finals. "We are nervous and it might be stressful, but I think Spain will win two goals to one," predicts Teo. The giant screen at the Fòrum will be another meeting point, where many hope to celebrate the title.

For those who are late, the recommendation is to go early or try local sports shops, although the selection is minimal. The craze for the red or white shirt of the national team has turned the search into a true odyssey for fans in the province of Barcelona.
