The employment fair in Barcelona returns on 21 and 22 October to the Montjuïc venue with double the space, more companies, and new initiatives like the networking 'Talent en directe'.
The Employment Fair, the city's main job event, returns with a record edition. On 21 and 22 October, the Montjuïc venue will host a fair that doubles its area compared to last year, aiming to offer more services, more job offers, and an improved experience for attendees.
Organised by Fira de Barcelona and promoted by the Barcelona City Council through Barcelona Activa, the fair is presented under the slogan “We Open Doors”. The initiative seeks to connect local talent with the real needs of the job market, at a time of economic transformation and changes in professional profiles.
The Deputy Mayor for Social Rights, Economic Promotion, Employment, Feminisms, and Democratic Memory, Raquel Gil, highlighted the importance of the event: “The Employment Fair is a key piece to ensure that no one is left behind in accessing quality employment at a time of transformation like the current one.”
One of the main innovations of this edition is the growth of the area dedicated to professional opportunities. More companies than ever will present specific vacancies, facilitating direct contact between candidates and organisations. Additionally, the new networking initiative “Talent en directe” will allow for quick interviews based on participants' profiles.
Sector-specific job marketplaces will also be organised, with recruitment activities in fields with high demand for professionals, such as technology, logistics, or social healthcare. These spaces aim to streamline the match between job supply and demand.
The fair doubles its space compared to last year to enhance the visitor experience. This increase in space will allow for greater presence of companies, entities, and resources that facilitate access to job opportunities. Young people will have their own unique area to receive guidance, learn about job offers, and identify potential training and employment pathways.
Training and personalised guidance will be central themes. Areas will be structured by economic sectors with high demand or generational transition difficulties, gathering training offers and including demonstrations of trades. Furthermore, individualised advice will be strengthened with a comprehensive programme of talks, practical activities, and services aimed at improving employability.
Attendees will be able to update their knowledge and acquire new skills, optimise their applications, and practice selection processes through simulations and new technologies, such as artificial intelligence. The programme will include conferences and workshops on emerging sectors, key competencies for professional profiles, and labour market trends.
As part of the fair, an institutional day aimed at experts and agents in the employment field will be held. This day will continue the initiative launched in the previous edition within the Barcelona Agreement for Quality Employment 2021-2030 (ABOQ), promoted by the Barcelona City Council with the participation of key players in the employment ecosystem.
The Employment Fair is consolidating as an essential meeting point for those seeking work or wanting to redirect their professional careers. With more space, more companies, and new tools, the 2026 edition promises to be the most ambitious to date.
