The LABturisme report from the Barcelona Provincial Council ranks the Olympic Canal as the second most visited resource in the region, and the Castle of Castelldefels as the second in architectural heritage. The Castle received 26,739 visits in 2025, a 27.3% increase from the previous year.

The Olympic Canal of Catalonia and the Castle of Castelldefels have established themselves as two of the main tourist attractions in Baix Llobregat, according to the third edition of the Visitor Report on tourist attractions by LABturisme of the Barcelona Provincial Council. The study, which analyses 180 spaces in the Barcelona regions, reveals that these resources accumulated 26.3 million visits during 2025.

The Olympic Canal ranks as the second most visited attraction in Baix Llobregat, surpassed only by Viladecans The Style Outlets. This facility, a reference in sports, water activities, and family leisure, maintains a strategic role for both residents and visitors arriving in the area throughout the year.

Regarding cultural heritage, the Castle of Castelldefels occupies the second position in the Architectural Heritage category of Baix Llobregat, only behind the Colònia Güell. This data confirms the growing interest in this emblematic space of the city, which combines historical value, cultural activities, and a consolidated heritage dissemination offer.

The Castle shows particularly positive growth in visitor numbers. During 2025, it received 26,739 visits, compared to 21,000 recorded in 2024, representing a 27.3% increase in just one year. This growth reflects the success of promotional strategies and the diversification of the municipality's cultural offer.

The LABturisme report incorporates for the first time an interactive viewer that allows consultation of data by municipality, region, type of attraction, and year, between 2018 and 2025. This data visualization and analysis tool serves municipalities and tourism agents to understand visitor flows and sector trends.

Baix Llobregat consolidates itself as one of the most visited regions in the Barcelona area, with 5.4 million visits recorded in 2025. This figure places it on par with Vallès Occidental and only behind Vallès Oriental. The region stands out for the diversity of its tourist offer, which combines commercial spaces, natural resources, heritage, and museums.

Montse Giró, head of LABturisme of the Barcelona Provincial Council, analysed the main conclusions of the report in an interview with Ràdio Castelldefels. Giró highlighted the relevant role of facilities such as the Olympic Canal of Catalonia and the cultural heritage of Castelldefels within the tourist offer of Baix Llobregat.

The results obtained by the Olympic Canal and the Castle highlight the growing importance of Castelldefels within the tourist map of Baix Llobregat and the Barcelona regions. The city positions itself as a destination that combines sport, heritage, culture, and nature, attracting both local visitors and tourists from other areas.

For the residents of Castelldefels, this data represents recognition of the quality of local facilities and a boost for the local economy. The increase in visitors to the Castle, for example, can generate new opportunities for local commerce and dining, as well as reinforce the cultural identity of the city.

The LABturisme report establishes itself as a reference tool for the tourism sector in the province of Barcelona. The collected data allows municipalities and tourism agents to design more effective strategies to attract visitors and improve the existing offer.
