L'Hospitalet City Council has evicted the fishmonger's stall in Collblanc market that was illegally occupying three spaces. The conflict dates back two years, when the new concessionaire accumulated tax debts.
The Urban Guard of L'Hospitalet and municipal services have carried out the eviction of the fishmonger's stall in Collblanc market, which, according to the council, was illegally occupying three interior stalls. These are stalls 182, 183, and 184, which lacked the necessary administrative authorization, according to municipal sources.
The conflict originated two years ago when the previous stallholder retired and transferred the business. Upon detecting that the new concessionaire had outstanding tax debts, the City Council denied the change of ownership and dismissed the subsequent appeal. The affected party challenged the decision in an administrative court, which accepted the appeal and is still pending resolution in 2027.
The owner of the fishmonger's stall claims that the regulations allow her to continue working while the change of ownership is processed. However, the council argues that the retired concessionaire renounced the permit in favour of the City Council once the transfer was denied, so the concession has reverted to the public entity.
With this action, the City Council has exhausted the administrative route, although the affected party can still file a new administrative appeal. For now, the three stalls have been vacated, and Collblanc market is returning to normal.
The eviction was carried out without incidents, with the presence of the Urban Guard's Coexistence and Civility Unit. Local traders, who had reported the occupation, have welcomed the measure.
This case highlights the complexity of concessions in municipal markets and the need to comply with administrative requirements to avoid irregular situations. L'Hospitalet City Council reminds that occupation without a valid title is illegal and that it will act accordingly.
