The L'Hospitalet City Council allocates 1,026,248.60 € to renovate and maintain several public schools during the summer.

The L'Hospitalet de Llobregat City Council has initiated an ambitious plan for interventions in public schools in the municipality during the summer period, aiming to improve and maintain the facilities for the upcoming school year. This initiative represents an investment of over a million euros, specifically 1,026,248.60 euros, which will enhance the safety and comfort of educational centres.

Significant renovations in nursery schools and structural improvements

Among the highlighted actions, the Escola Bressol Municipal La Casa del Parc will receive a complete renovation of its interior flooring. The access carpet will also be replaced, and the interior wooden doors will be repainted, along with complementary work aimed at modernising the space for the youngest children.

Similarly, the Escola Bressol Municipal La Casa de la Muntanya will undergo the replacement of its interior flooring and the painting of wooden doors, in addition to other maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.

As for Escola La Carpa, the balcony planters will be replaced with galvanised steel railings, a measure that provides greater durability and safety to these areas of the building, according to the local council.

On the other hand, Escola Frederic Mistral will undergo a partial reconstruction of its perimeter wall, while Escola Pep Ventura will carry out repairs on the façade and roof, including the repair of roof edges and the reinforcement of waterproofing in affected or deteriorated areas.

Painting and repairs in several schools in L'Hospitalet

The centres Joan Maragall, Josep Janés, and Pau Casals will mainly receive interior painting work. This will include the treatment of cracks, fissures, and dampness, as well as the repair and replacement of damaged elements such as locks, doors, or corner protectors, to keep the facilities in optimal condition.

Additionally, at Escola Joan Maragall, some sections of exterior walls will be painted, an additional intervention that will help improve the appearance and preservation of the educational centre.

These actions demonstrate the commitment of the L'Hospitalet City Council to preserve and update its public schools, providing safe and comfortable spaces that directly benefit students, families, and education professionals.

Local impact and municipal commitment to education

The maintenance and improvement plan is designed to be executed during the non-school period, thus avoiding disruption to school activities and ensuring that the centres are in optimal condition for the start of the 2026-2027 school year. Residents and users of the municipality will be able to enjoy renovated and safer facilities starting in September, marking a significant advancement in educational quality and community well-being.

The budget of over a million euros reflects the priority that the City Council places on public education and the maintenance of its infrastructures, betting on a sustainable and preventive model against possible future deterioration.
