The 'Joker/Yayo' operation by the Civil Guard and Customs has dismantled a network trafficking cocaine between Catalonia and the Balearic Islands. In Badalona, 225 kilos of drugs were seized, and a total of over 300 kilos has been confiscated.
A joint operation by the Civil Guard and the Customs Department of the Tax Agency has allowed the dismantling of a criminal organisation trafficking cocaine between Catalonia and the Balearic Islands. The operation, dubbed 'Joker/Yayo', has resulted in 21 arrests and the seizure of over 300 kilos of cocaine, as well as 20 kilos of hashish, €400,000 in cash, 22 high-end vehicles, and several firearms.
One of the most significant blows of the operation took place in Badalona, where agents intercepted 225 kilos of cocaine. This amount, added to the nearly 66 kilos seized at the port of Palma and other confiscations at homes, raises the total amount of drugs seized to nearly 303 kilos of cocaine and 20 kilos of hashish.
According to investigations, the network operated in a structured manner: the purchase of cocaine was managed from Catalonia, its concealment in specially modified vehicles, and its maritime transport to Mallorca. On the island, another group was responsible for receiving the drugs and distributing them among various sales points.
The final phase of the operation has been carried out simultaneously in Catalonia and the Balearics, with searches in homes in Palma and Alcúdia. During these inspections, agents located 22 high-end vehicles, three firearms, electric shock devices, silicone masks, police tape, and balaclavas.
The investigation remains open, and further actions related to the dismantled organisation are not ruled out. Authorities have not provided further details about the detainees or possible connections to other criminal groups.
