Joventut Badalona to Face Unicaja Alhaurín in Liga U

Joventut Badalona will play in Group B of Liga U alongside Unicaja Alhaurín, Bilbao Basket, and others. The competition starts on 25 September.

Joventut Badalona will play in Group B of Liga U alongside Unicaja Alhaurín de la Torre, Bilbao Basket, and three other teams. The competition starts on 25 September.

Joventut Badalona already knows the schedule for the upcoming edition of Liga U, the youth basketball competition. The green and black team has been placed in Group B, where they will face Unicaja Alhaurín de la Torre, Kids&Us Manresa, Amara Lleida, Bilbao Basket, UCAM Murcia Juver, and Obradoiro C.A.B.

The first phase of the tournament will begin on 25 September and will consist of 14 matchdays, with a double round league format within each group. One team will have a bye each matchday. At the end of this phase, the seventh-placed team from Group A will be relegated to the second phase of Group B, while the first from Group B will be promoted to Group A.

Group A will consist of Real Madrid, Barça Atlètic, Burgos Grupo de Santiago, Casademont Zaragoza, Fundación CB Canarias, Valencia Basket, and Bàsquet Girona. This group brings together some of the most powerful teams in Spanish youth basketball.

Before the second phase, a single-match play-out will take place. The fifth and sixth-placed teams from Group A will face the third and second from Group B. The winners will advance to the second phase in Group A, while the losers will enter Group B.

The grand final, the Final 6, will be held between 13 and 16 May 2027. It will feature the top four teams from the second phase of Group A, plus the winners of the matchups between the first from Group B and the sixth from Group A, and between the fifth from Group A and the second from Group B.

For Joventut Badalona, this competition represents a key opportunity to measure the talent of their youth academy against top-level rivals. The Badalona club has traditionally been a reference academy in Spanish basketball, and Liga U is the showcase where their young talents seek to make the leap.

Joventut's first match in this edition is scheduled for late September. Fans will be able to follow the team's progress throughout the 14 matchdays of the initial phase, hoping to see the green and blacks fight for a place in the Final 6.

Liga U has established itself as one of the most important training competitions in the country, and Joventut Badalona aims to leave its mark on it once again this season.
