The Town Hall of Castelldefels has incorporated the Residència Catite and the Hotel Playafels into the Emblemàtics Castelldefels project, which recognises historic businesses in the city. The unveiling of the plaques took place on July 21.

The Residència Catite and the Hotel Playafels are officially emblematic establishments of Castelldefels as of July 21. The recognition, driven by the Town Hall, aims to highlight their role in the history and daily life of the municipality.

Two decades of history serving the city

The Residència Catite, located at Garbí promenade, 134, has over thirty years of experience in caring for the elderly and people with functional diversity. The centre has become a social and care reference in the city, offering close service to families.

On the other hand, the Hotel Playafels, located at Ribera de Sant Pere street, 1-9, is one of the longest-standing hotels in Castelldefels. Its location by the sea and its connection to local tourism development have established it as an emblematic accommodation.

The Emblemàtics Castelldefels project

The initiative was born in 2023 from the municipal areas of Commerce and Tourism. The aim is to protect and give visibility to establishments that have contributed to building the identity of the city.

The Councillor for Commerce, Mar Sicilia, and the Councillor for Tourism and Hospitality, Guillermo Massana, presided over the placement of the commemorative plaques. Both highlighted the history and roots of these businesses in the municipality.

A growing recognition

With the inclusion of the Residència Catite and the Hotel Playafels, the network of emblematic establishments in Castelldefels continues to expand. The project distinguishes businesses for their continuity, historical value, and contribution to the local economy.

For residents, this recognition represents a way to preserve the collective memory of the city. Emblematic establishments are not just businesses, but meeting spaces and references for the community.

The Town Hall plans to continue expanding the list in the coming months, aiming to promote local commerce and quality tourism in Castelldefels.
