The Chamber of Terrassa has selected 10 startups in its second call for 2026 of the Impulsa Startup programme, which now totals 20 projects this year. Six are from the Terrassa area and four from Barcelona.

The Chamber of Terrassa has greenlit 10 new projects in the second call of 2026 for its Impulsa Startup accelerator, a programme that has nearly doubled its capacity compared to 2025. Of those selected, six are based in the Terrassa area and four in Barcelona, covering sectors such as human resources, training, health, emotional well-being, and consumption.

A free acceleration without losing equity

For early-stage entrepreneurs, the main attraction is that the programme does not require any equity stake in exchange for acceleration. The selected startups receive personalised mentoring, access to a network of experts, and the chance to compete for local prizes of up to €4,800. Additionally, the local winner will compete in the national final of 4YFN 2027, where an additional €12,000 will be awarded.

The programme, coordinated by the Chamber of Spain and co-funded by the European Social Fund Plus, is aimed at startups with less than five years of existence or ideas with a validated prototype. This third edition has introduced significant changes: the duration has been reduced from six to three months per call, allowing for two annual cycles.

More projects than ever in the third edition

The trajectory of Impulsa Startup is on the rise. In its first edition in 2024, around 15 projects were accelerated; in 2025, the figure remained at 15. This year, with two calls of 10 projects each, the total rises to 20 startups. The first Demo Day of 2026 took place on June 18, and the second is scheduled for November.

The first call of this year, which started in March, selected projects in areas of SaaS, cosmetics, and health. The second, now announced, expands the range to sectors such as HR and emotional well-being, reflecting the diversity of the local entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The increase in projects is not coincidental. According to sources from the Chamber of Terrassa, the demand for acceleration programmes in the outskirts of Barcelona is growing, and Terrassa is establishing itself as an alternative hub with lower operational costs than the Catalan capital.

Advantages for entrepreneurs in Vallès Occidental

For founders in the region, the programme offers concrete advantages. The lower competition for attention —10 projects per call compared to the hundreds that Barcelona programmes receive— allows for more personalised support. Additionally, the Chamber of Terrassa works in parallel with the municipal programme Impulsa TRS, launched in 2025, which offers advanced services to an additional 30 companies.

Another advantage is the connection to Barcelona without the costs of the capital. Just 25 minutes by train, entrepreneurs can access events like the Mobile World Congress while maintaining offices and housing at significantly lower prices.

“The programme demonstrates that Terrassa and nearby municipalities are developing specific support infrastructure,” the organisation highlights.

For residents of Terrassa and Vallès Occidental, this initiative represents an opportunity to validate their business model without diluting their capital and with access to a network of mentors that would otherwise be difficult to reach. The next registration period for the first call of 2027 is expected to open in January.
