On August 2, the open day returns to Castelldefels Castle, with free access to the building, gardens, and Piratia, the piracy interpretation centre.
Castelldefels Castle, one of the most emblematic monuments of Baix Llobregat, opens its doors for free this Sunday, August 2. The open day, which takes place every first Sunday of the month, will allow visitors to access the historic building, its gardens, and the Centre for the Interpretation of Piracy and the History of Castelldefels (Piratía), located within.
The visiting hours are set from 11 am to 7 pm, although the last entry will be allowed at 6 pm. Although the tickets are free, prior reservation is required through the Entrápolis platform, as informed by the Castelldefels City Council.
The experience at the Castle includes a tour of spaces such as the model room, the Church of Santa Maria del Castell, Piratía, the Institutional Room (or Noble Room), the Fencing Room, the terrace, and the extensive gardens. Piratía offers an attractive audiovisual experience focused on the world of pirates, especially designed for family audiences.
The open days occur monthly. The next scheduled dates are September 6, October 4, November 1, and December 6. The City Council reminds visitors that animals are not allowed inside the Castle.
Castelldefels Castle has undergone significant restoration in recent decades thanks to public investment led by the municipal council. This initiative has allowed one of the most relevant architectural elements of the region to be modernised, turning it into a top-tier tourist and cultural attraction.
