The UE Castelldefels Foundation and the ISTEA Association are launching an adapted football school for children with autism spectrum disorder. The project will be presented on July 29 at the Municipal Camp dels Canyars.

Castelldefels will have a new inclusive football school aimed at children and young people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The initiative, driven by the Unió Esportiva Castelldefels Foundation and the ISTEA Association, will be officially presented on July 29 at 8 PM at the Municipal Camp dels Canyars.

The Adapted and Inclusive Football School is born with the aim of making sport a tool for learning, socialisation, and autonomy for all participants. According to the promoters, the project aims to ensure equal opportunities and encourage the participation of all children in the city's sporting life.

The ISTEA Association, which will celebrate fifteen years of experience next year, is an entity specialised in supporting people with ASD and their families. For years, it has offered support and guidance after diagnosis, and now takes a step forward in the sporting field.

So far, there are already over twenty children registered. Before activities begin in September, individual work will be carried out with each participant. This process will include the development of sensory profiles and the assessment of the specific needs of each child to define working groups and necessary supports.

The planning also includes preparing and anticipating the sessions so that participants arrive at the field with a clear and adapted structure, thus facilitating their participation and well-being during the activity. The UE Castelldefels Foundation and ISTEA aim to consolidate an inclusive sports model that guarantees equal opportunities.

The school will start in September, and interested families can already contact the entities for more information. The presentation on July 29 will be an opportunity to learn more about the project and resolve any doubts.
