The State Meteorological Agency forecasts a day of intense heat in the province of Barcelona this Monday, with maximum temperatures ranging from 36 to 38 degrees, and does not rule out locally strong showers along the coast.
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued its forecast for this Monday, July 27, indicating a widespread increase in temperatures across the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, particularly affecting the province of Barcelona. According to the agency, thermometers could reach between 36 and 38 degrees in large areas of the metropolitan area and the interior, while strong showers are possible along the coast during the early morning and morning.
The day will be characterised by atmospheric stability due to high pressures, resulting in mostly clear or little cloudy skies across most of the territory. However, in the northeast of Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, cloudy intervals with the possibility of isolated precipitation are expected. Specifically, the Barcelona coast could experience early morning showers, which may be more intense in the northern Balearic Islands during the morning.
Maximum temperatures are expected to rise significantly across most of the Peninsula, except in the extreme southeast, where slight decreases are forecast. In the province of Barcelona, maximums are expected to hover around 36-38 degrees, with particularly high values in the interior and pre-coastal areas. Minimums will also rise, leading to tropical nights along the Mediterranean coast, where temperatures will not drop below 20 degrees.
The wind will blow moderately from the east along the coast, with intervals of tramontana in the Ampurdán region. It also warns of the possible presence of morning fog banks in the extreme northern peninsula and the western coasts of Alborán, although none are expected in the province of Barcelona.
In the rest of Spain, the situation will be similar, with clear skies and rising temperatures across most of the territory. In the valleys of the Guadiana and Guadalquivir, temperatures could reach 38-40 degrees, while in western Galicia and the southwest of the Peninsula, thermometers will hover around 36-38 degrees. In the Cantabrian area and the upper Ebro, skies will be cloudier, with the possibility of some weak and scattered precipitation.
For residents of the province of Barcelona, Monday will be hot and stable, with the exception of possible morning showers along the coast. It is recommended to avoid prolonged sun exposure and to pay attention to weather updates, especially if outdoor plans are in place.
