From September 4 to 7, Santa Coloma de Gramenet will celebrate its Summer Festival with 116 activities, most of which involve local participation. Mayor Mireia González highlights the commitment to local talent and decentralisation.
Santa Coloma de Gramenet is finalising preparations for its Summer Festival 2026, which will take place from September 4 to 7. The City Council, in collaboration with the Festival Commission and local entities, has organised a total of 116 activities, of which 71 feature local representation. 52 local artists and 30 entities from the city will participate, consolidating the proximity character of the celebration.
The mayor, Mireia González, has emphasised that this edition reflects “the spirit of an open, plural, and dynamic Santa Coloma.” The programme focuses on local culture, citizen participation, and an offering designed for all ages, with events spread across different neighbourhoods.
Among the most notable names in the musical programme are David Bustamante, Chanel, Sopa de Cabra, Sidonie, Los Manolos, El Drogas, María Peláe, and 31 FAM. Numerous local artists will also perform, playing a leading role throughout the festival.
The Summer Festival maintains its family-oriented approach with a wide range of children's and inclusive activities. The Violeta Festival, aimed at children and families, will be one of the highlights. There will also be shows across the neighbourhoods, the traditional Meeting of Giants, parades, fire runs, workshops, cultural activities, and street entertainment. Sardanas, habaneras, and popular concerts will also be featured.
Traditional culture will be one of the main highlights. The ringing of bells and the inaugural speech will lead to casteller demonstrations, the Summer Correfoc and the children's correfoc, giant and big-head parades, sardanas, habaneras, and performances by the Can Roig i Torres Music Band. This initiative reinforces the role of popular culture entities, which are essential in organising the celebration.
Cuisine will also have a prominent space with a new edition of the Corre-Tapa, which will take place on Saturday and Sunday in bars and restaurants throughout the city. The proposal includes new musical and roaming entertainment to energise the participating establishments.
The programme is completed with the Attractions Fair in the parks of Europa and Can Zam, the Entities Fair, sports and cultural activities, and itinerant shows.
One of the most anticipated symbols of the Festa Major will once again be the solidarity scarf. It can be reserved from August 24 through the municipal platform and collected from August 31. The proceeds will be entirely allocated to the municipal food solidarity programme, jointly managed by the City Council and Creu Roja Barcelonès Nord.
The official poster of the Festa Major 2026 has been selected through a participatory process among the citizens. The three finalist proposals were created by local designer, musician, and illustrator Marc Vila (Markie Brown).
The City Council will deploy a special device to ensure the smooth running of the events. Municipal cleaning services, the presence of the Local Police, and emergency teams will be reinforced, as well as the work of the night watchmen. Various Purple Points will also be installed to prevent gender-based violence and promote safe and respectful festive spaces.
The Summer Festival 2026 reaffirms its model of an open, inclusive, and decentralised celebration. For four days, Santa Coloma de Gramenet will become a large stage for coexistence, culture, and citizen participation.
