Pineda de Mar is bringing back this year the outdoor dinners for the main festival, a tradition that returns with participation from twelve streets and entities in the municipality. The event will take place on Saturday, August 29, during the festive celebrations.
The mayor, Sílvia Biosca, along with the Councillor for Culture and Festivals, Verònica Rebollo, and the Councillor for Neighbourhoods, Sandra Villarte, met on Monday afternoon with representatives of the participating groups. The meeting detailed aspects such as the distribution of tables and chairs, planned traffic closures, and other logistical details.
The call, disseminated through the Town Hall's social media and Ràdio Pineda, closed on July 17. Twelve streets and entities have joined this first edition, including the Neighbours' Association of Calle Mayor, the Cultural and Recreational Centre, and the residents of Calle de Mar.
Biosca highlighted that "recovering this tradition is a way to strengthen ties among the neighbourhood, promote coexistence, and fill the streets with life during the main festival. Sharing a meal in the street is also sharing the village."
The initiative complements the traditional dinner on Calle Mayor, which is already established in Pineda de Mar's festive calendar. With this revival, the Town Hall aims to promote a more participative and close-knit main festival, as stated by the council.
Residents of the participating streets will be able to enjoy an outdoor evening, with traffic closures planned on the affected roads to ensure safety. The organisation recommends staying alert to municipal notices for information on schedules and celebration areas.
The outdoor dinner will take place on Saturday, August 29, coinciding with the central events of the main festival in Pineda de Mar.
