The municipal council has given the first approval to the modification of the Metropolitan General Plan in the area of Can Pomada, a surface of 5.99 hectares. The file will be subject to public information for two months.
The Montcada i Reixac Town Council has initially approved the specific modification of the Metropolitan General Plan (PGM) in the area of Can Pomada. The action covers a surface of 5.99 hectares located around the farmhouse of the same name, between the agricultural fields of Pla d'en Reixac, Mas Rampinyo and the Mas Duran neighbourhood.
The urban review aims to ensure the viability and consolidation of this sector, which had significant deficits. The objective is to facilitate urbanisation, improve basic services and adequately protect the Masia de Can Pomada, as well as regularise the situation of land that is already considered urban land.
During the plenary debate, the president of the Territorial and Mobility Area, Andreu Iruela, emphasised the need to end the uncertainty for residents. “Today what we are doing is starting to replace the uncertainty of the residents with certainties that show that the Town Council has not given up on the Can Pomada neighbourhood,” Iruela stated, who also highlighted that the council will work to ensure that residents have the same services as the rest of the municipality.
The approved file will be exposed to the public for two months. During this period, citizens will be able to consult the documentation and submit objections. Additionally, neighbouring municipalities of Santa Perpètua de Mogoda, Ripollet, la Llagosta and Barberà del Vallès will be heard.
At the same time, the Town Council will request the necessary reports from the competent bodies regarding mobility, water, waste, civil protection, geology and the environment. During the processing, and for a maximum period of two years, licenses and actions that may be incompatible with the new planning will be suspended.
The measure represents a step forward for an area that presented significant urban deficiencies. The local government has committed to addressing the process with responsibility, technical rigor and sensitivity, in collaboration with the neighbourhood. The regularisation will allow, according to municipal sources, residents of Can Pomada to enjoy basic services and a dignified public space.
The next milestone will be the final approval, once the public information procedures and sectoral reports have been completed. The Town Council hopes that the processing will not be excessively delayed, although the maximum suspension period for licenses is two years. Neighbours in the area will be able to closely follow the evolution of the file through municipal channels.
