The municipal plenary of Ripollet approved the self-protection plan for the Fira d'Atraccions 2026, with the favourable vote of all groups except Decidim, which abstained.
The Plenary of the Ripollet City Council, held in July 2026, approved by majority the Municipal Self-Protection Plan for this year's Fira d'Atraccions. The temporary document received favourable votes from all political parties, while Decidim opted for abstention. The measure aims to ensure safety during the attractions of the Festa Major, which will take place at the end of August.
Before starting the plenary session, the mayor of Ripollet, Luis Tirado, announced several improvements for the coming months. He highlighted the increase in frequency of the E4 bus line, which from August will have departures every 15 minutes throughout the day, compared to the 30 minutes of the previous year, which were only reduced to 15 minutes between 6:45 and 9 in the morning.
Tirado also informed about the start of works at Ca la Cristina for the first week of September, and the construction of the new municipal Deixalleria (clean point), which will begin on September 16. Both actions are part of the council's investment plan to improve public services and the town's facilities.
Regarding the Festa Major, the plenary approved a motion presented by Decidim to ensure violence-free spaces during the celebrations. The initiative, which arises from the 'Manifesto for violence-free Festa Major spaces', developed by entities and groups from Ripollet, will be mandatory for all entities, groups, and individuals responsible for bars, concerts, fairs, and other cultural and popular activities.
The motion was passed with the favourable vote of all political groups, while VOX abstained. During the session, a representative of Acció Ripolletenca Antifeixista read the manifesto, whose intervention can be recovered on the council's YouTube channel.
The plenary also approved the local holidays for the year 2027, which will be May 17 (second day of Easter) and August 30 (Monday of Festa Major). These days off will affect the workplaces and educational centres in the municipality, and their designation follows the usual calendar of the locality.
The next ordinary plenary session will be held in September. The residents of Ripollet can follow the sessions live or on demand through ripolletradio.cat and the RipolletTV YouTube channel.
