The full council of the Rubí City Council approved on Thursday the appointment of Rafael Cuesta Correderas as the new councillor for Urban Maintenance and Citizen Relations, which has prompted a reorganisation of responsibilities among several members of the municipal government.
The Rubí City Council now has a new councillor in the governing team. Rafael Cuesta Correderas took office during the plenary session held yesterday, assuming the responsibilities of Urban Maintenance and Citizen Relations. His arrival has led to a redistribution of functions among several councillors, according to the council.
Specifically, Cuesta takes over the Department of Urban Maintenance, which was previously managed by Juan López Núñez, and the Department of Citizen Relations, which was in the hands of Joan Antoni Brustenga Majó. Additionally, he assumes responsibility for the Citizen Attention Office (OAC), which previously depended on Víctor García Correas, and the Citizen Relations and Proximity Service, which Brustenga also managed.
The reorganisation particularly affects the functions performed by Víctor García Correas. From now on, the management of the Business Services Office (OSE) and the Rubí Forma Employment Service will be handed over to Joan Antoni Brustenga Majó. Meanwhile, the services of Human Resources; Organisation, Planning and Quality; and the Studies and Statistics Office will be managed by Maria Carmen Alarcón Cuenca. The Education service will be taken over by Sonia García Francés.
In terms of territorial changes, there are also adjustments. Joan Antoni Brustenga Majó takes over from Víctor García Correas at the helm of district 5, which includes El Pinar, Zona Nord, and La Serreta. At the same time, he hands over district 2 to the incoming councillor, Rafael Cuesta.
Another modification affects the signing of agreements with educational, university and training centres for internships at the Rubí City Council. This responsibility, which was previously delegated to the Department of Equality, Education, Youth and Public Health, is now under the councillor for Employment, Business, Commerce and Civism, Juan Antonio Brustenga Majó.
With these changes, the municipal government of Rubí aims to optimise the management of various services and bring the administration closer to the citizens. Cuesta's incorporation strengthens the governing team in key areas such as urban maintenance and citizen attention, two fields that require close coordination with residents.
The new councillor, Rafael Cuesta, faces the challenge of improving communication with citizens and ensuring the good condition of the urban areas in the municipality, a concern that particularly worries residents of these zones. For their part, the residents of district 2 will now have a new interlocutor in Cuesta, while those in district 5 will be represented by Brustenga.
The reorganisation does not affect the other areas of the municipal government, which retain their usual responsibilities. The Rubí City Council has emphasised that these changes aim for greater efficiency in public management and a better response to citizens' demands.
