Hotel occupancy in Vallès Occidental and Oriental surpassed 79% during the MotoGP Grand Prix 2026, with Sabadell reaching 74.6% and Granollers 86.6%.
The roar of MotoGP engines was not only heard on the circuit but also filled the rooms of hotels in Vallès. According to a report from the Diputación de Barcelona, tourist occupancy during the Grand Prix held from May 13 to 16, 2026, approached 80% in the Vallès regions, surpassing last year's figures.
Vallès Occidental led the table with 79.8%, two points higher than in 2025, while Vallès Oriental reached 79.6%, almost three points above. In Maresme, however, occupancy fell slightly to 75.5%, although it remains the area with the most overnight stays in absolute terms, with over 160,000 nights during the three days of the event.
Municipal data: Granollers and Sabadell on the podium
Among the municipalities analysed, Granollers took the crown with 86.6% occupancy, followed by Sabadell, which recorded 74.6%. Both towns saw an increase in their overnight stays: Granollers added nearly 4,300 nights (4.2 points more than in 2025) and Sabadell close to 3,900.
The report highlights that Vallès Occidental is the only region that has increased its overnight stays, consolidating itself as one of the areas that benefit the most from the tourism impact of the Grand Prix. For hotels in Sabadell, this provides a respite during the low spring season, and locals may notice more activity in bars and shops during those days.
Varied prices: Vallès Oriental, the most expensive
Hotel prices also reflect demand. Vallès Oriental maintains the highest rates, with an average of 141.8 euros per double room, followed by Vallès Occidental at 125.2 euros. In Maresme, however, the median price drops to 97.1 euros. Granollers again stands out with the highest rate among the analysed municipalities: an average of 161 euros per night.
For readers in Sabadell, this data indicates that staying during MotoGP in the city is more affordable than in Granollers, but still represents a considerable expense. The Diputación de Barcelona, which prepared the report as part of the Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizes that motor-related tourism remains a key economic driver for the province.
“The MotoGP Grand Prix generates a direct impact on hotel occupancy and tourist spending, and the Valleses are positioning themselves as complementary destinations to the circuit,” sources from the study state.
Looking ahead to future editions, hoteliers in the area are already optimistic: the upward trend suggests that 2027 could surpass these figures. Meanwhile, motor enthusiasts who could not find accommodation on the coast now know that Vallès is an increasingly established alternative.
