The Town Hall of Parets del Vallès joins the 'The ABC of Heat' campaign launched by the Department of Health to prevent the effects of high temperatures this summer.
The Town Hall of Parets del Vallès has once again joined the prevention and awareness campaign promoted by the Generalitat of Catalonia to minimise the effects of high temperatures and heatwaves, which can cause dehydration, exhaustion, heat strokes, or sunburn.
The campaign, led by the Department of Health, is titled 'The ABC of Heat' and focuses on prevention through three basic tips: air, drink, and home.
The first, air, recommends seeking shade in outdoor spaces, taking refuge in air-conditioned places, and avoiding going out during the hottest hours. The second, drink, emphasises the importance of staying hydrated frequently, even if not thirsty. The third, home, advises controlling the temperature at home, lowering blinds to prevent sunlight from entering, and opening windows at sunset to cool down, as well as using fans.
The campaign places special emphasis on protecting the most vulnerable groups, such as the elderly, children, and those with chronic illnesses, who suffer the most from the consequences of extreme heat.
In case of any emergency, the council reminds that you can call 061 Salut Respon, the Generalitat's health care hotline. You can also visit the Generalitat's website for more recommendations.
With this initiative, Parets del Vallès reinforces its commitment to public health and provides its residents with practical tools to face the hottest months of the year safely.
