The Eurojackpot draw this Friday has left a prize of €53,581.10 in Badalona, the second most significant of the day after the record €71 million in Lleida.
The Eurojackpot draw held on Friday, July 24, distributed a total of €71,262,143.10 in Lleida, the highest prize ever awarded by ONCE in the entire country. But luck also smiled in Badalona, where a seller handed out a prize of €53,581.10 corresponding to the third category (five correct numbers).
The fortunate seller is Nieves Fernández, who was responsible for selling the winning ticket in the city. Although the prize is much lower than the record in Lleida, it brings joy to the winner and recognition for the work of ONCE sellers in the province of Barcelona.
The big prize of the day was sold in the Segre industrial estate in Lleida, by the seller Sergio Martín, who with three and a half years of experience has achieved the largest prize in ONCE's history. Upon hearing the news, Martín stated: "Hooray! I've made a grand debut, with immense excitement. Today I've given out the lottery of my life. I'm very happy because I've made a customer very happy and indirectly my city as well."
The Eurojackpot is a European draw held on Fridays, with a mechanism similar to other games of chance: participants must guess five numbers from a first matrix and two stars from a second. The winning bet of the first category, which corresponded to Lleida, consisted of five numbers plus two stars.
In Badalona, the third category prize (five numbers) has resulted in an income of €53,581.10 for the winner, who has not yet been publicly identified. Seller Nieves Fernández expressed her satisfaction at having contributed to the luck of a local resident.
ONCE has highlighted that this draw has been historic for the entity, not only because of the record prize in Lleida but also due to the widespread distribution of prizes, which have reached different parts of the territory. In the province of Barcelona, besides Badalona, other municipalities have recorded smaller prizes, although the organization has not detailed further locations.
The prize in Lleida, amounting to €71 million, surpasses the previous ONCE record from 2018, when €67 million was distributed in a Daily Coupon draw. The entity has confirmed that the winner from Lleida has already been contacted and that the payment process has begun.
For the residents of Badalona, this prize serves as a reminder that luck can strike at any moment. The ONCE sales points in the city continue their daily work, offering the possibility of winning prizes that, although not always millions, can change the lives of those who receive them.
ONCE reminds that all its draws are supervised by the General Directorate of Gaming Regulation and that prizes are paid within a maximum period of three months. Winners must keep the original ticket and present it at any office of the entity to claim the prize.
