Midfielder Laura Requena, 36, arrives from Granada after thirteen seasons. She is the sixth signing of the Badalona club for the 2026-2027 campaign.

Badalona Women announced on Thursday the signing of midfielder Laura Requena, known as 'Lauri', who becomes the sixth addition to the Badalona team for the 2026-2027 season. The 36-year-old player arrives from Granada, where she has played for the last thirteen seasons.

Requena was part of Granada's historic promotion to the First Division in 2013. During her time with the Nazarí team, she left as the player with the most matches played in the history of the women's section and the second top scorer of the club in the top tier.

The Manchegan, who can play as an attacking midfielder, strengthens the Badalona Women project alongside other experienced signings, such as Vicky Losada, one of the most decorated players in Spanish football. The Badalona team aims to establish itself in the upper part of the table after reaching the semifinals of the Copa de la Reina last season.

“I needed a change and Badalona was the perfect destination. It is a very exciting project and I am convinced it will be one of the most ambitious in Spanish football this season. I am eager to contribute my experience, continue growing, and help the team achieve its goals,” Requena stated to the club's media.

With this signing, Badalona Women has confirmed six signings for the upcoming season. Previously, the club had announced the arrivals of goalkeeper Txell Font, defender Izarne Sarasola, midfielders Lucía Martínez and Vicky Losada, and forward Mirari Uria.

The Badalona team seeks to make a quality leap in the next season after a standout campaign in the Copa de la Reina. Requena's experience, with over a decade at the elite level, will be key for a dressing room that combines youth and experience.

Badalona Women continues to work in the transfer market to complete a competitive squad. The Badalona fans are eagerly awaiting the start of the 2026-2027 season, which will begin in the coming weeks.
