Catalan midfielder Vicky Losada returns to play in Spain after her time in English football. She arrives on loan at Badalona Women with the aim of bringing experience and boosting the sports project and the competition.

Vicky Losada is already in Badalona. The experienced midfielder, who has built her career in English and American football, returns home to play a season on loan at Badalona Women. The 34-year-old player states that she arrives with the intention of contributing her experience and helping the club and Liga F to grow.

A return with ambition

Losada acknowledges that the summer felt long. After finishing the English league early, she was eager to sign and start the new adventure. “I have missed playing football a lot; in the end, it’s what I love most,” she confessed at her presentation. The player highlights the ambition of the Badalona Women project and assures that the team aims for the highest.

The former Brighton and Bristol player explains that her return to Spain is not a coincidence. “I wanted to finish my years with the more tactical and technical football that is played here,” she points out. She claims that the intelligence of Spanish players is superior to that of the English league, which is much more physical. “The matches are more attractive for those who enjoy watching football,” she values.

Pioneer and role model

Vicky Losada was one of the first Spanish footballers to go abroad to become a professional. “I left when no one dared to go, to be a pioneer,” she recalls. Now that many young players are following that path, she has decided to return. “I come here to continue promoting the league here, to give more visibility to young talents,” she states.

The footballer believes that her experience can be key for the players of Badalona Women. “I have had to mature very quickly, and I have years to share that experience,” she says. In the locker room, she already knows some teammates from the Catalan national team, but she is eager to meet the rest and start working.

A growing project

Badalona Women has strengthened itself with one of the most experienced players in Spanish women's football. The club, which competes in Liga F, seeks to establish itself in the elite, and Losada is a key piece to achieve this. “I want us to be seen as a competitive team that is improving,” she emphasizes.

In addition to the sporting aspect, the player wants to raise visibility for the city of Badalona. “Off the pitch, it’s also important,” she comments. The goal is clear: to finish as high as possible in the table and, in the process, serve as a role model for young talents who dream of becoming professional footballers in their homeland.

“I have missed playing football a lot. This year I think can be a beautiful one; the project is full of ambition, and I’m eager to meet the girls,” declared Vicky Losada.

Losada's loan represents a media boost for Badalona Women and Liga F. The player, who has won significant titles such as the Champions League, returns home with a backpack full of experiences and the excitement of a challenge that, according to her, is just beginning.
