The National Police have dismantled a criminal organization in Badalona that used a taxi as a front to export hashish to France, Germany, and Italy. Four people have been arrested and over 300 kilos of drugs, a revolver, and 138,000 euros have been seized.
The National Police have dismantled a large-scale hashish trafficking organization in Badalona that used a taxi as a means of transport to evade police controls. The operation, carried out by agents of the judicial police of Sant Adrià de Besòs, resulted in the arrest of four individuals and the seizure of over 300 kilos of drugs, a revolver, 138,000 euros in cash, and eight high-end vehicles.
The investigation began in mid-2025 when agents detected the activity of a well-structured group based in Badalona. The inquiries revealed that the network employed a taxi driven by one of the suspects, who took advantage of the legal appearance of his profession to collect and distribute the merchandise. The vehicle became a key tool for the organization, as the normality associated with public service minimized the risk of detection.
The investigators conducted thorough surveillance of the taxi driver, which allowed them to identify the pick-up and drop-off points for the drugs, as well as the so-called 'safe houses', secure locations where the network stored the substance before distribution. These properties, located in Badalona and other towns, were essential for keeping the drugs away from the homes of the leaders.
The first blow of the operation occurred when agents intercepted the taxi in Sabadell, just after the driver had picked up a shipment. Inside were the suspect and his daughter, who was also actively involved in the scheme, pretending to be on a family trip to throw off suspicion. In the boot, agents found two bags containing 29.180 kilos of hashish, leading to the arrest of both for drug trafficking and belonging to a criminal organization.
Simultaneously, the National Police deployed a device around the various points linked to the group. One of the targets was the home of the person considered the main leader of the organization, in Badalona. Agents established discreet surveillance until the suspect attempted to leave the residence, at which point he was arrested to prevent flight or destruction of evidence.
With the corresponding judicial orders, agents searched the main residence in Badalona, where they seized 155.24 kilos of hashish in pills, 17.14 kilos of hashish resin in pollen, a revolver with 15 cartridges, 138,020 euros in cash, and a van. In a storage unit linked to the network, another 104.40 kilos of hashish resin were confiscated. In total, the operation has allowed the seizure of over 300 kilos of drugs, a revolver with 20 cartridges, more than 138,000 euros, and eight high-end vehicles.
The network primarily targeted countries in the European Union such as France, Germany, and Italy, where the drugs were distributed. The organization implemented strict security measures and a well-defined division of functions, which complicated the investigation. However, the persistence of the agents succeeded in completely dismantling the structure.
The four detainees have been placed at the disposal of the judiciary as presumed responsible for drug trafficking and belonging to a criminal organization. The operation represents a severe blow to drug trafficking in the Barcelonès region, where the presence of organizations using sophisticated methods for drug transport is a constant concern for security forces.
