The Badalona presenter Jorge Javier Vázquez turns 56 on July 25, enjoying holidays that take him from Turkey to Vietnam, after a season at the helm of 'El diario de Jorge' and several reality shows on Telecinco.

The most recognised face of Spanish television, Jorge Javier Vázquez, from Badalona, celebrates his 56th birthday this Friday, July 25, thousands of kilometres from home. The presenter has split his summer holidays between Turkey and Vietnam, as this newspaper has learned.

Vázquez had already hinted at his trip to Turkey during actor Can Yaman's visit to his show Hay una cosa que te quiero decir. In the middle of the interview, the communicator joked about his plans: “This summer I'm going on holiday to Turkey and, while you were talking to me, I was wondering if all the guys are like you.” The Turkish actor humorously replied: “I am the ugliest, so just imagine.”

The presenter then confessed that he does not follow Turkish soap operas, which he described as “the devil” and his “competition.” However, Yaman's visit generated a flood of messages from fans interested in attending the set, something Vázquez described as unprecedented.

Vietnam is not a new destination for the Badalona native. He previously visited the Asian country in the winter of 2013, during the peak of Sálvame, when he also travelled through Myanmar for 20 days. Last year, he celebrated his birthday in Southeast Asia, specifically between Indonesia, Thailand, and Hong Kong, accompanied by his ex-boyfriend, whom he usually refers to as “P.” to preserve his anonymity.

On that occasion, Vázquez recounted on his Lecturas blog how “P.” surprised him on his birthday with a vase of local flowers “that weighed like an entire building.” Despite their breakup in 2018 after more than a decade together, they maintain a close friendship. “I like to travel with P. because he takes away any guilt complexes I might have about food,” he wrote then.

Jorge Javier Vázquez's intense television season has included the consolidation of El diario de Jorge in the afternoons on Telecinco and his participation in presenting several reality shows for the channel. The summer break comes after months of high media exposure.

The presenter, who turned 55 on July 25, 2025, has made his birthday a regular travel occasion. This time, the itinerary combines the Middle East with Southeast Asia, two regions that allow him to disconnect from the frantic pace of the studios.

Vázquez's relationship with Badalona, his hometown, remains a reference in his biography. Although he usually resides in Madrid for professional reasons, the presenter has never hidden his connection to the Barcelonan city, where he began his career in local media before making the leap to national television.

Jorge Javier Vázquez's holidays coincide with the summer break of television, although his show El diario de Jorge has already secured its continuation for the next season. The presenter will return to the studios in September, presumably with new episodes of his talk show and his participation in the channel's reality shows.

For now, the Badalona native is enjoying a few days of rest that combine culture, scenery, and gastronomy, away from the media spotlight. His followers, through social media, have already sent him their congratulations and messages of affection on this new anniversary.
