Between July 20 and 24, maintenance brigades executed ten interventions in the public space of Castelldefels, focused on sidewalk repairs and improving accessibility.
The Castelldefels City Council has carried out ten improvement actions in the public space during the week of July 20 to 24. The interventions, executed by the Public Space Maintenance teams, primarily focused on repairing sections of sidewalk, a key task to ensure the safety and accessibility of pedestrians.
The work included sidewalk repairs at Carrer 21 number 24, Plaça de l'Església, Avinguda 307 number 51, and Avinguda 300 number 15. Additionally, a cover was repositioned or replaced at the junction of Avingudes 317 and 314, and a removable bollard was replaced at Carrer del Doctor Marañón number 4.
In the area of signage and tourist information, two wooden posts for beach information signage were installed: one at Passeig Marítim with Avinguda dels Banys (access 19) and another at Passeig Marítim with Avinguda República Argentina (access 08). These actions aim to improve visitor orientation during the summer season.
Other interventions included the removal of fences to facilitate access to a construction site at Avinguda del Canal Olímpic number 27, and preliminary work for placing a foundation that will allow the repositioning of the stone and anchor at Plaça de l'Àncora. This last action responds to the need to preserve heritage elements of the municipality.
According to municipal sources, these periodic maintenance tasks are essential to keep the city in good condition and prevent incidents that could affect residents' mobility. Sidewalk repairs, in particular, help eliminate architectural barriers and facilitate the movement of people with reduced mobility or baby strollers.
The Castelldefels City Council has reminded that these actions are part of a continuous public space conservation plan, which is carried out throughout the year. Citizens can report incidents related to urban furniture or sidewalks through the designated citizen attention channels.
In the coming weeks, similar interventions are expected to continue in other parts of the municipality, aiming to maintain quality and safety standards in public spaces. The maintenance brigades operate on a scheduled basis and also respond to specific notifications from residents.
