Meanwhile, teams from the Barcelona Centre for Urgent and Emergency Social Services (CUESB) were dispatched to the site to provide support and psychological care to the victim's surroundings.
The Barcelona City Council has strongly condemned the events and activated the established mourning protocol in conjunction with institutions and entities. This protocol includes the public denunciation of the case across various communication channels to raise awareness among citizens against misogynistic violence.
For tomorrow, at 12:00 noon, a minute of silence has been called at Plaça de Sant Jaume in condemnation and rejection of this murder. The event will be open to all citizens who wish to show their solidarity with the victim and her family.
The City Council has reiterated its commitment to the fight against gender violence and has reminded that women suffering from this scourge have specific support resources. The Attention, Recovery and Reception Service (SARA), located at 16 Marie Curie Street, offers advice and psychological support. The helpline for misogynistic violence, 900 900 120, is free, confidential, and leaves no trace, operating 24 hours a day in multiple languages.
In case of emergency, women can call the Barcelona Centre for Urgent and Emergency Social Services at 900 70 30 30, or 112 for emergencies. The City Council urges citizens that if they know of any cases of misogynistic violence, they should not hesitate to contact these services.
