The Kursaal in Manresa has opened the registration period for the twelve groups of the Performing Arts Classroom for the 2026/2027 course. This year, a new annual course in makeup and stage characterisation has been introduced.

The Teatre Kursaal in Manresa has launched registrations for the 2026/2027 course of its Aula d'Arts Escèniques, which will offer a total of twelve groups with classes starting from 14 September. The educational offering, of municipal nature, is aimed at all ages and will take place in the theatre's facilities, a professional environment for learning the performing arts.

One of the main novelties this year is the introduction of an annual course in makeup and stage characterisation, taught by Esther Castellana. This course, designed for those over 16, has a practical and applied approach, culminating in the students' actual participation in the characterisation of the scheduled performances at the theatre. Participants will engage in character analysis, design, testing, and execution in the backstage during the performances.

The makeup and stage characterisation course is especially aimed at individuals linked to amateur theatre groups in Manresa, the Bages region, and surrounding areas, with the goal of connecting training with real-stage experience and providing direct value to the theatre's activities.

As for the theatre and musical theatre courses, the offering remains for all age groups. For the youngest, aged 4 to 6, the 'Teatre Petits' group meets on Tuesdays from 18:00 to 19:00. For children aged 7 to 11, there are two 'Teatre Infantil' groups: on Mondays and Tuesdays, both from 18:00 to 19:30. Young people aged 12 to 16 have two options: 'Teatre Juvenil (text/gest)' on Thursdays from 18:00 to 20:00, and 'Teatre Musical Juvenil' on Wednesdays from 18:00 to 20:00, which this year will prepare the musical 'Aladdin'. For those aged 16 to 18, the 'Teatre Jove' group meets on Fridays from 16:00 to 18:00.

For those over 18, the Aula maintains the 'Teatre Adults' groups on Mondays from 20:00 to 22:00 and 'Teatre Musical Adults' on Tuesdays from 20:00 to 22:00, which this year will work on the musical 'Avenue Q'. A specific course for those over 55 is also offered on Wednesdays from 19:00 to 21:00. As in previous editions, the course 'Coreografies (dance) de Teatre musical' is maintained, although the schedule is not specified in the information provided.

From the Performing Arts Classroom, they highlight the benefits of theatrical learning, which helps to enhance cognitive skills, improves competencies and personal motivation, boosts social inclusion, and develops personality traits such as confidence, creativity, imagination, critical thinking, and emotional expression. Furthermore, they point out that theatre contributes to greater academic success and better overall health.

Registrations for all courses are exclusively made through the Kursaal website, in the training section: www.kursaal.cat/formacio/cursos. For any inquiries, you can contact via email at auladeteatre@mees.cat. Groups have limited places, so it is recommended to register as soon as possible to secure a spot.

The 2026/2027 course will begin the week of 14 September, with staggered schedules according to the group. The Kursaal theatre, located in the centre of Manresa, thus consolidates itself as a reference in scenic training in the Bages region, offering a unique opportunity to learn in a professional environment.
