The City Council of Berga has initiated a new tender process for the assembly and disassembly of large tents intended for fairs such as Maig, Santa Tecla, or the Joc i de Nadal. The previous contract was terminated due to deficiencies in the service.

The City Council of Berga has launched a new tender to contract the service for the assembly and disassembly of the large municipal tents that are installed in the Viladomat square and the promenade of the Industria. These structures are essential for the celebration of events such as the Fira de Maig, the Fira de Santa Tecla, and the Fira del Joc i de Nadal.

The previous contract, awarded in the summer of 2025, was terminated because the company in charge presented significant deficiencies in service delivery, according to the council. Now, the City Council is looking for a new company that can guarantee an efficient and quality service.

The base budget for the new tender amounts to €25,077.92, including VAT. The contract will have an initial duration of one year, with the possibility of two annual extensions. Interested companies can submit their bids until 23:59 on Thursday, August 6, 2026, through the Digital Envelope system, which ensures confidentiality until the proposals are opened.

The technical specifications detail the scope of the service, the functions of the staff, and the conditions for its proper execution. The specific dates for assembly and disassembly will be set each year according to the programming of the fairs. This measure aims to adapt to the changing needs of the festive calendar of the capital of the Berguedà.

The Fira de Maig, one of the most emblematic, attracts thousands of visitors each year. The Fira de Santa Tecla and the Fira del Joc i de Nadal complete a cycle of events that energise the commercial and cultural activity of the municipality. The correct installation of the tents is key to the development of these events, which require large covered spaces.

The City Council has published all the documentation on the contractor profile of its website, where interested parties can consult the details of the specifications and the conditions for participation. The tender is conducted through an open procedure, allowing any qualified company to participate.

With this new contract, the council aims to avoid past problems and ensure that the fairs proceed smoothly. The termination of the previous contract represented a logistical setback that is now expected to be resolved with a more reliable contractor.

The residents of Berga and visitors will be able to enjoy the upcoming editions of the fairs with the assurance that the infrastructures will be ready on time. The City Council hopes that the new service will meet expectations and contribute to the success of these traditional events.
