The new facility, located next to the roundabout on the Alella road, offers covered parking for 20 bicycles and tools for basic repairs, all free of charge.

El Masnou now has a new service station for bicycles, situated next to the roundabout on the Alella road, close to the beach, the port, and the Rodalies train station. The facility is part of the Maresme EuroVelo 8 regional network, a project that provides services for cyclists in all municipalities of Maresme, from Montgat to Tordera.

The station is a closed and covered cabin, equipped with photovoltaic panels that generate the necessary energy for its operation. All services are free, but users must register on the PVerde app, available for iPhone and Android, and adhere to the established usage rules.

The operating hours vary depending on the time of year. Between May and October, the station is open from 6 AM to 9 PM; between November and April, from 7 AM to 7 PM. It can be used every day of the year within these hours.

The collective parking has a capacity for twenty bicycles. Additionally, the station has tools for basic repairs, such as inflating tires or adjusting screws. Although it is a closed space, users are advised to lock their bicycles with a chain, as there is no mechanism to prevent other users from removing them.

The maximum consecutive parking time allowed is 12 hours. If this limit is exceeded, the service cannot be used again until 4 hours have passed, or until the station is back in operation. The total maximum parking time is 24 hours; if exceeded, the bicycle may be considered abandoned and removed.

To report incidents, users can call 673 692 043, send an email to info@parkinverde.es, or contact via WhatsApp through the link available in the PVerde app.

The inclusion of El Masnou in the EuroVelo 8 network has also led to the renaturalisation of the final stretch of the Alella stream, from the bridge on Rosa Sensat street to the mouth. Invasive species, such as American reed, have been removed, and native vegetation has been planted. The aim is to recover the ecological and landscape value of this urban river and coastal space.

The Maresme EuroVelo 8 network is a project promoted by the Maresme County Council, funded by the Next Generation EU funds. It takes advantage of the Maresme route of the EuroVelo 8 cycling path to promote the discovery of the natural values of the territory, encourage sustainable mobility, and attract cycling tourism.

For the residents of El Masnou, this station represents an improvement in sustainable mobility options in the municipality, especially for tourist and leisure trips. Its strategic location, close to the beach and the port, facilitates intermodal connections with the train and other means of transport.
