The municipal company renews its vehicle fleet with three new electric vehicles, replacing two old ones and expanding the fleet. The purchase has been financed by the MOVES III programme using European funds.
The municipal company Aigües de Mataró has added three new electric vehicles to its fleet, an operation that allows it to renew its vehicle park and take a further step towards sustainable mobility. The acquisition, which replaces two old vehicles and expands the fleet with an additional unit, is part of the objectives of the Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (PAESC) of Mataró.
The new vehicles, intended for the company's operational tasks, replace models that were still in service and that did not meet current emissions standards. With this renewal, the company aims to reduce both CO₂ emissions and noise pollution in the city.
The purchase has been made possible thanks to the MOVES III programme, managed by the IDAE and the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO), and funded by the European Union through the NextGenerationEU funds. The collaboration of the Catalan Energy Institute (ICAEN) has also been key in the process.
The MOVES III programme, which promotes electric mobility, has provided financial aid that facilitates the transition to a more sustainable fleet. Aigües de Mataró has emphasised that this initiative reaffirms its commitment to responsible practices and to the implementation of solutions aimed at energy transition and sustainable development in the municipality.
With this action, the municipal company is progressing in the gradual renewal of its vehicle fleet, in line with the climate objectives set by the PAESC of Mataró. This measure represents a further step in the commitment to cleaner and more efficient mobility in the daily life of the city.
