The photographic exhibition, curated by Vittorio Canale and Marisa Domínguez, opens on August 1 at the Miramar – Centre Cultural and will be on view until September 20.
The Miramar – Centre Cultural de Sitges will host the photographic exhibition 'Between Cities, Affective Cartography' from August 1, a project by artists Vittorio Canale and Marisa Domínguez. The exhibition, which is part of the La Pregonera 2026 programme, will be open until September 20.
The exhibition offers a visual journey through cities such as Buenos Aires, Los Angeles, New York, London, and Sitges itself. Through the images, mother and son provide a personal and emotional perspective on how art, family, and shared experience shape memory and define territory.
According to the Culture Department of the Sitges Town Hall, the inauguration will take place on Saturday, August 1 at 7 PM, with free entry. Visiting hours are Wednesday to Sunday, from 10 AM to 2 PM and 5 PM to 8 PM, except on holidays.
The project was selected in 2025 through a public call for exhibition proposals at the Miramar – Centre Cultural. A jury composed of the Culture Councillor, Albert Oliver-Rodés; a representative from the Cultural Council; and three professionals from the art world evaluated the artists' track record, the connection of the work to Sitges, and its potential national interest.
'Between Cities, Affective Cartography' is one of the four exhibitions chosen in that call. Each photograph captures traces of time and place, transforming life trajectories into an intimate dialogue with urban space.
The exhibition is part of La Pregonera 2026, the cultural programme of the municipality that annually brings together various artistic disciplines. The organisers highlight that the exhibition offers a unique opportunity to reflect on the relationship between the individual and the city through the lens of two generations.
