Founded in 2024 as a spin-off of the tech company CLiCKO, the marketing agency Klorofila has managed to attract over 150 clients in just over two years. Their method is based on an initial conversation on a Chester sofa to understand the client's business before designing any strategy.
The marketing agency KLOROFiLA, based in Vilanova i la Geltrú, has reached 150 clients in just two years of existence. The firm was born in 2024 as a spin-off of CLiCKO, an IT services company founded in 2011 by Óscar Gómez and Óliver Román. The demand for marketing services from tech clients led to the creation of an independent agency.
“We saw that clients were asking their IT partner for marketing services, when IT and marketing are not the same thing,” explains Eva Carrasco, the agency's director. “That’s why we decided to create an external agency, with a specialized team.”
The Chester sofa as a starting point
KLOROFiLA's methodology begins with a conversation in their office, where a Chester sofa invites the client to explain their business. “If you don’t understand the client’s business, marketing is just shooting in the dark,” summarizes Carrasco. “The sofa is for that, to understand it before proposing anything.”
The team analyses each case together before deciding on a solution: it could be a Google Ads campaign, a content strategy, a website redesign, or SEO positioning work. There are no universal recipes.
Four key areas to organise digital presence
The agency structures its work into four main blocks: branding, social media, SEO and SEM, and web design and development. From there, they cater to both large brands like McDonald’s, Le Tribute, or Empordà Golf Club, as well as local SMEs.
For the firm, coherence is fundamental. “A brand cannot just be visible; it must be recognisable and act in accordance with what it communicates,” they assert. If a company wants to present itself as sustainable without real actions, KLOROFiLA's recommendation is not to pursue that path.
The creative approach goes beyond aesthetics. “Sometimes creativity is understood only as a nice design, but it’s also in the way you approach a project or solve a problem,” the team explains. This coexists with an analytical part, especially in SEO and SEM, where the work requires time and follow-up.
Oriol Serra, responsible for SEO, SEM, and Google Ads, recalls that “not everything generates immediate results.” SEO, for example, often requires months of work. “There has to be an investment and also some trust in the process to see results,” he points out.
Proximity inherited from the tech culture
The agency maintains a close relationship with the client, a legacy of CLiCKO. “Going to see the client, calling them, and being there for them is in our DNA,” Carrasco asserts. “Many of them appreciate getting out of the email exchange and being able to talk in person.”
Looking to the future, KLOROFiLA aims to consolidate departments, expand the team, and continue adapting to a rapidly changing sector. An indicator of success, they explain, was the call from a client who, after launching the project, had to hire more people because they couldn’t keep up. “That summarizes better than any percentage the effect we seek,” they conclude.
