The Plenary has definitively approved the modification of the traffic ordinance and its penalty framework, which incorporates changes for scooters and driving school vehicles.
Sant Quirze del Vallès now has new traffic regulations. The modification of the Municipal Traffic Ordinance and the penalty framework, which the Plenary initially approved on 28 May 2026, has been definitively approved as no objections were raised during the public consultation period.
The Sant Quirze del Vallès Town Council justifies the change by the need to adapt local regulations to the emergence of new means of transport such as electric scooters (VMP), as well as to the modifications of the General Traffic Regulations introduced by Royal Decree 465/2025, of 10 June, which reclassifies certain traffic violations.
The new ordinance also incorporates specific regulations for driving school vehicles, an area that had not been previously addressed. With this update, the council aims to respond to new mobility scenarios and ensure safety on public roads and collective spaces in the municipality.
Residents of Sant Quirze del Vallès should be aware of the new penalties and rules, which affect both drivers and users of scooters and other personal mobility vehicles. The ordinance will come into effect once the final text is published in the Official Bulletin of the Province of Barcelona.
