The Generalitat has maintained the Inuncat plan in alert phase due to the forecast of heavy rain for today and tomorrow in much of Catalonia. The Meteorological Service of Catalonia (SMC) warns of widespread showers that could exceed 40 mm in 30 minutes in several counties, including Vallès Occidental.
In Sant Quirze del Vallès, precipitation is expected today, August 6, from 8 PM, and tomorrow Friday between 12 PM and 6 PM. The showers will be accompanied by storms and, locally, severe weather phenomena, with very strong gusts of wind and possible hail.
Civil Protection urges citizens to take extra precautions: avoid unnecessary travel during intense rain episodes and do not cross rivers, streams, or flood-prone areas, either on foot or by vehicle.
The Operational Coordination Centre of Catalonia (CECAT) follows the SMC's recommendations and advises staying informed through official channels. In case of emergency, call 112.
The alert also affects other counties such as Baix Llobregat, Vallès Oriental, Bages, Anoia, and Osona, among others. The Sant Quirze del Vallès council has called for caution, especially during the hours of expected peak intensity.
