The ordinary July council meeting of the Sant Quirze del Vallès Town Council will take place this Thursday at 19:30 in the Salut Pastor room of the Patronal. The agenda, consisting of 15 points, will address municipal management issues, institutional declarations, and motions from political groups.
Among the highlighted points, the mayor's decree formalising the municipality's adherence to the Climate Refuge Network of the province of Barcelona will be reported. This initiative aims to enable public spaces as shelters during episodes of extreme heat. There will also be information on the objections presented to the PLATER (Energy Transition Plan) and a debate on an institutional declaration for a fair, democratic, and sustainable energy model in Catalonia.
In the realm of public services, the management assignment to the municipal entity COMU Sant Quirze del Vallès, S.L.U. for the provision of the municipal nursery service 'El Patufet' will be submitted for approval. Additionally, a budget modification will be addressed, which includes the incorporation of surpluses from 2025, credit reductions, and the creation of earmarked applications.
Another relevant matter is the agreement with the Catalan Water Agency (ACA) for the transfer of the infrastructure for the extraction of groundwater 'Pou de les Morisques', a measure aimed at ensuring the municipality's water supply.
In the motions section, the SQVEC-C group presents a proposal for a renewable, fair, and planned energy transition, and for a PLATER with municipal, environmental, and territorial guarantees. Meanwhile, the PSC-CP presents two motions: one for the implementation of a new police video protection system in the municipality and another for the reopening of the Les Fonts wastewater treatment park as a local urban park.
