The Creamedia incubation programme has concluded its 25th edition with 11 startups from the creative and cultural industries. The call for the next edition is now open.
The Creamedia incubation programme, driven by Barcelona Activa alongside the Catalan Institute of Cultural Enterprises (ICEC), has finished its 25th edition with the support of eleven startups from the creative and cultural industries. Over six months, the projects received personalised advice, training, networking activities, and a coworking space to foster business synergies.
Among the participating startups are notable proposals such as Batze, dedicated to selling digital files for 3D printing and DIY manufacturing of articulated pieces and furniture; Tinta Il·lustrada, specialising in botanical illustration with watercolour and artistic stationery; Ubuntu Contemporary, which manages exhibitions of emerging art with leasing, sales, and rotation of curated collections; and 3000 per cent, a film production company developing an animated series and a project to bring cinema to rural areas.
Completing the list are Woxl, The Grow Collection, Cyrille Books, Vertebra, Cintia, Cultura Lab, and Sat Nam, a publishing house focused on yoga and professional growth. Joan Adell, promoter of Sat Nam, highlighted the programme's assistance: “Creamedia has helped me keep my feet on the ground, to know where to focus my energy and to open my perspective with different viewpoints. The interdisciplinarity of the professionals who accompanied us has ensured that all the steps I will take now have a more solid and innovative dimension.”
At the closing event, five projects were selected as finalists after presenting a three-minute elevator pitch before an evaluation committee made up of technicians from the collaborating entities. The evaluation criteria included innovation, impact on the city, scalability, global growth potential, social impact, team, presentation quality, and technical and economic viability.
Creamedia was established in 2009 and has since supported 370 startups within the creative and cultural ecosystem. Two annual editions are organised, with an average of 12 projects incubated. The call for the next edition, which will start in October, is already open. Applications can be submitted through the Barcelona Activa website until 13th September.
The programme is supported by the Fundació Catalunya Cultura, Audiovisual Producers of Catalonia, and the Fundació Carulla. The aim is to strengthen the entrepreneurial fabric in the cultural and creative sector of Barcelona, providing tools and contacts for startups to scale their projects.
For Barcelona entrepreneurs interested in participating, the call offers a unique opportunity to access specialised training and a network of industry contacts. Selected participants will have a coworking space and personalised support for six months.
