The Municipal Market of Santa Perpètua de Mogoda has launched the Punt Viu, a space dedicated to local associations to raise awareness of their activities. The initiative, supported by the Diputació de Barcelona, aims to energise the facility as a meeting point for citizens.
From this Thursday, the Municipal Market of Santa Perpètua de Mogoda features a new space called Punt Viu, designed to bring the local associative fabric closer to the public. The initiative, promoted by the Department of Commerce, is supported by the Diputació de Barcelona and is part of a strategy to strengthen the market's role as a space for social dynamism.
The Punt Viu will allow entities and associations in the municipality to have, on a temporary basis, a place within the market to explain their activities, present projects, showcase their proposals, or recruit new members and volunteers. The Councillor for Commerce, Laura Oliver, explained that the objective is twofold: “To bring entities closer to the public and, at the same time, continue to energise the Municipal Market with new activities that consolidate it as a lively, participatory space closely linked to the life of the town.”
The new space is open to entities from any field: cultural, sports, social, educational, environmental, charitable, health, or leisure, among others. The only condition is that the activities carried out contribute to fostering citizen participation and the social dynamism of the market. “We want the market to be much more than a shopping space; we want it to be a meeting point where things happen, where citizens learn about the work that entities do and where these entities also find a new window to make themselves known,” highlighted Oliver.
The councillor emphasised the richness of the associative fabric of Santa Perpètua: “Santa Perpètua has a very rich and active associative fabric, and we believe that the Market is an ideal place for this vitality to be visible and reach new audiences.” Entities interested in participating in the Punt Viu can contact the Department of Commerce via email comerc@staperpetua.cat, from where the programming of different participations will be coordinated.
The Municipal Market, meanwhile, will close for holidays from August 3 to August 24, both inclusive. During this period, the Punt Viu will not be operational, but it will resume in September with the planned programming.
