According to Tomás, they went to a promotion for the national football team at the shopping centre. Upon arrival, they encountered dozens of immigrants at the entrance. Despite trying to go unnoticed, two of them recognised them and began to insult them. Subsequently, several individuals assaulted both Tomás and her partner, even though the children were present. The situation was resolved thanks to the intervention of people working in the nearby shops.
The VOX spokesperson has filed a complaint regarding the incident. She explained that one of the assailants has already been identified. Tomás had announced that she would attend the World Cup final on a giant screen in a public area, and some of the immigrants who harassed her showed up at that location. She was able to identify one of them, which allowed for police action. She hopes that the investigation will lead to the arrest of the remaining individuals involved.
A few days earlier, Tomás suffered another assault during a public festival. On that occasion, she was with the VOX spokesperson in the Parliament, Joan Garriga, and other party supporters. According to her account, the people handling a fire dragon, upon seeing them, changed the trajectory of the device and directed it towards them. Tomás has also reported these events, stating that some use public festivals for their political interests and that such assaults cannot be tolerated.
The VOX spokesperson has criticised the lack of solidarity from the municipal government team, other political groups, and the local press. Only the Popular Party, through Alejandro Fernández, has spoken out and shown her support on social media. Tomás has expressed her gratitude for that gesture.
Tomás believes that these assaults are becoming normalised because, according to her, the municipal government team and its allies have contributed to dehumanising VOX members. She claims that a climate of 'anything goes to stop VOX' has been established in Terrassa, which leads violent individuals to act with impunity. Nevertheless, she assures that they will not be silenced and will demand that those responsible pay for their crimes.
Regarding her political proposal, Tomás defends the need to implement national priority in Terrassa. She believes that newcomers, who have not paid taxes, should not have advantages over citizens who have been contributing for decades. She advocates for controlling the municipal register, which she describes as a sieve, and for improving social services, which she claims are overwhelmed by the influx of immigrants.
Tomás has also pointed out that change is possible in Terrassa and that there is a growing frustration among residents who look to VOX with hope. She proposes increasing the number of local police officers, providing them with more resources, and, above all, giving them greater political support so they can act decisively against criminals.
The incidents have sparked a debate in the city about safety and coexistence. It is expected that the police investigation will progress and that the remaining identified assailants will be arrested.
