The city celebrates its major festival from August 13 to 16 with concerts by Chenoa, The Tyets and Los Toreros Muertos, correfoc and fireworks. Preliminary activities will kick off on August 8.
Castelldefels has finalised the programme for its summer Festa Major, which will take place from August 13 to 16 and will fill streets, squares and venues with proposals for all ages. Before the official start, the Agrupación de Cultura Popular de Castelldefels has organised a warm-up weekend with activities to create a festive atmosphere.
On Saturday, August 8, the pre-campaign will begin with the Cursa d'Orientació Gar-i-Got at 7:30 am and the performance of La llegenda del Gar-i-Got at 10 pm. The following day, Sunday 9, popular culture will take over with a diada castellera at 11:30 am and a family-friendly gegant activity at 6 pm.
The official opening speech will take place on Thursday, August 13 at 9 pm from the balcony of the Town Hall, delivered by Pikeras and the Coral Marinada. This year, the Penyes de Festa Major will be officially welcomed in the Plenary Hall before the opening speech.
The inaugural day will have a strong youth focus with the FAK (Festa Jove Alternativa), which will be held in front of the Instituto Josep Lluís Sert with workshops, a market and activities led by AVIVA, as well as concerts and DJ sessions featuring artists like Nadlyn, Estoparte, Ouineta, MDNYO, Dj Pau Lara and Pikeras. In the evening, the Plaza de la Iglesia will host concerts by Ginestà (10 pm) and Los Toreros Muertos (midnight).
Friday, August 14 will be dedicated to families in the morning, with storytelling shows, workshops with Senyora Bombolles, the planting of gegants, and the Aigua Sostenible space, followed by the descent of gegants to the Plaza de la Iglesia. In the afternoon, the Plaza Neus Català will host a tribute to Camela (8 pm), while the Parque de la Muntanyeta will be the venue for the traditional paella popular (9 pm), a musical bingo, and the concert of Lo + POP. Rock lovers will have a date with Bulsara, a tribute band to Queen, at 10:30 pm in the Plaza de la Iglesia.
On Saturday, August 15, the main day, the little ones can enjoy a foam party and the Splash Slide water slide. At noon, the Procesión de Festa Major will parade through the city centre, organised by the Agrupación de Cultura Popular with the support of the Parroquia de Santa Maria de la Salut, and featuring the Colla Nova de Bastoners de Castelldefels and the invited Gigantes y Cabezudos from Torrejón de Ardoz.
Saturday night will spread music across three stages: the Plaza Neus Català will host the habaneras concert by Americanus (8 pm) and the Brindis (10:30 pm); the Parque de la Muntanyeta will feature Besta, winner of Nous Talents 2026 (9 pm), and The Tyets (10 pm); and the Plaza de la Iglesia will present Opus Nova, from Camerata Bacasis (10:30 pm), and the Tribute to the Best (12:30 am).
Sunday, August 16 will be reserved for the most popular activities. The Parque de la Muntanyeta will host the Holi Dolly Festival (6 pm), while the centre will be filled with rhythm and fire with the tabalada, the Ball de Diables and the Espectacle de la Porta de l'Infern (8 pm) and the traditional Correfoc (8:45 pm). At 10 pm, the concert by Chenoa will be one of the highlights of the festival, while the Plaza de la Iglesia will host a dance with the Orquestra Centauro (10:30 pm). The grand finale will be the fireworks on the seafront (11:45 pm) and the closing session Festa DJ Big Friday.
Sports will also have its place: on Saturday, August 15 at 7 pm, UE Castelldefels will face UA Horta at the Camp Municipal Els Canyars, and on Sunday, August 16 at 9:30 am, the traditional cursa de Festa Major will take place.
