The Plaza de las Palmeras hosts a new edition of the Palm Market this weekend, featuring outdoor cinema, concerts and stand-up comedy. The market, supported by the Town Hall, will be active until 5th September.
The Plaza de las Palmeras in Castelldefels transforms again this weekend into the epicentre of summer leisure with the second edition of the Palm Market. The space, promoted by the Town Hall's Commerce department, combines from 26th June until 5th September a programme that includes cinema, live music, comedy and activities for the whole family.
The initiative arises as an evolution of the former Nits entre Palmeres and Cinema entre Palmeres, which until last summer offered leisure activities in the same location. Now, under the new name, the plaza becomes an outdoor meeting point with stalls for fashion, crafts and cosmetics, as well as a gastronomic offer with food trucks, bars and terrace areas by the sea.
The weekly programme maintains a fixed structure: Thursdays are dedicated to cinema under the stars; Fridays to live music; Saturdays to family plans; and Sundays to comedy afternoons. This week, activities kick off on Tuesday 4th August with an improvisation show at 8:30 PM.
On Wednesday 5th August, the most unique proposal arrives: Palm Lights, a candlelit concert dedicated to Serrat's repertoire, which will start at 9:30 PM. On Thursday 6th August, the outdoor cinema will screen the film Shrek from 9:30 PM, an event aimed at family audiences.
On Friday 7th August, live music will be provided by the group Encanto del Loco, performing from 9:30 PM. On Saturday 8th August, the little ones will have their space with the show Peterpan, scheduled for 7:30 PM. And on Sunday 9th August, humour will take over with Txabi Franquesa in the Palm Comedy session, starting at 7:30 PM.
The commercial and gastronomic offer will be available throughout the day, allowing visitors to combine a stroll through the stalls with the option of dining on the designated terraces. The Palm Market thus presents itself as a recurring plan for the residents of Castelldefels and for those who wish to enjoy the summer by the sea.
Entry to all activities is free and open to all. Next week, the programme will continue with new proposals for cinema, music and comedy, always in the Plaza de las Palmeras.
