In addition to the phone, the Catalan Consumer Agency offers a web form on its page to submit complaints, claims, or inquiries electronically. The council reminds that, before resorting to the official channel, it is advisable to first contact the involved company.
In physical establishments, consumers can request official complaint, claim, or report forms. For basic services such as electricity, water, gas, or transport, one can call the free customer service phone line, which should provide an incident number.
Complaints can also be sent by email with proof of receipt, by certified postal mail, or via burofax. The OMIC emphasizes that it is essential to include in the written document the personal details of the complainant, a statement of the facts, and the specific request, along with any available documentation: invoices, receipts, advertisements, or estimates.
If the company does not respond satisfactorily within a maximum of one month, the consumer can make an appointment with the OMIC of Malgrat de Mar to initiate mediation, or submit the request electronically via an application directed to the office.
