The Molins de Rei Town Council suspends payment in the blue and orange zones for the entire month of August. The parking meters will not operate from the 1st to the 31st, inclusive.
Drivers in Molins de Rei will be able to park for free in all blue and orange zone spaces in the municipality throughout August. The Town Council has announced that the parking meters will remain out of service from Saturday, August 1st to Monday, August 31st, both inclusive.
The measure, which is implemented every summer, aims to facilitate mobility and parking in the municipality during a month when commercial activity and travel significantly decrease. Thus, both the blue and orange zones will be free from time control.
During these four weeks, residents and visitors will be able to leave their cars in any of the regulated spaces without needing to take a ticket or worry about the maximum stay time. The free parking applies to all parking spaces in Molins de Rei.
The measure does not imply changes to other traffic regulations: restrictions on stopping and parking in loading and unloading zones, pedestrian crossings, and other usual restrictions will remain in effect. It also does not affect private parking or spaces for residents with their own permits.
Service will return to normal on Tuesday, September 1st, when the parking meters will resume their usual operation and it will again be mandatory to pay for parking in these zones. The Town Council recommends paying attention to signage to avoid fines once the free period ends.
